EASIS Drive Check - Hard Drive Diagnostic - USB Stick Diagnostic

EASIS Drive Check is a simple powerful tool to check the health of your hard drives or other storage devices like flash drives, usb sticks, external hard drives and more.

Hard drive fails could cause data loss scenarios which necessitate a data recovery task.

EASIS Drive Check includes two tests to diagnostic hard drives or media failures in advantage of the disaster and the need of data recovery.

First you can read out the S.M.A.R.T. values of internal ATA/IDE hard disk drives and interpret their values. EASIS Drive Check read out over 40 values to help on decicions as your drive should be changen. Often you can decide to change the drive only by reading the S.M.A.R.T. values. But interpreting S.M.A.R.T. values can be only a hint to decide about the drive status because the values are only snapshots and not complete tests of the drive. Also, interpretations are difficult because different vendors offers different attributes to read out.

However, it is impossible to get such S.M.A.R.T. values from other media like usb drives, external hard drives and some more storage devices.
Our second approach is to test sector read possibilities of the media surfaces because storage devices die often slow, starting with a few sector read errors. With EASIS Drive Check you can check out each sector on the media surface. EASIS Drive Check is "read only". That means the software will never destroy any data on your device.

EASIS Drive Check will inform the user by sending reports by email or let him create small reports for hard copy or documentation purposes.
